Meet Dr. Greg

Our co-founder Dr Grzegorz Stanislawski has his own skin story to tell

I studied medicine at the University of Hamburg. Since 2017, I have been a board-certified dermatologist, specialist in Orthomolecular Medicine, Dermatology and Phlebology, and I’m currently employed at the dermatology practice – Prager & Partner in Hamburg.

As a dermatologist, I’ve always been interested in skin health, especially treating acne-prone skin. I decided to become a co-founder at System Akvile in November 2020 because I love how the company is combining technology with skincare.

I believe in a holistic approach when it comes to treating acne prone skin because figuring out what triggers the breakouts ultimately helped me with my own skin.

Unfortunately, my acne prone skin is genetic. My parents both had acne when they were teenagers, so my older brother and I had it too. Since he was the first to have acne, I was able to learn about acne prone skin and its causes very early on. My own experiences and my work with my patients has helped me to realize two things:

  • Even though pimples form the same way every time, the factors that lead to breakouts are different for each person.
  • It's difficult to find the culprit, especially if you don't know where to start.

And that's where our app comes in: the user gets weekly access to expert knowledge about skincare, nutrition and wellbeing, including skin-friendly recipes and more.

I’m a nerd when it comes to skincare, I mean – I'm a dermatologist after all. But skincare alone isn't always enough – acne prone skin needs more. When I was a teenager, I started with BPO (benzoyl peroxide) and various wash gels and lotions containing salicylic acid. Later, I had to resort to locally applied antibiotics. It was, as with probably many of you, sometimes better and sometimes worse.

It wasn't until I found out that dairy products, which I loved at the time, and sweets, which I still love, were causing my breakouts that my skin started to clear up. I found out for myself that nutrition can affect acne prone skin and this led me to complete additional training in medical nutrition. I am so excited to share my knowledge with you guys in the 6-week skin health program.

Our app has a number of great features to help users find what's best for them and their skin. They can monitor their skin's progress with the face scan and learn more about their skin's patterns with skincare and lifestyle tracking and personalized statistics.

"I am very proud to be a part of this expert team! And, I'm very much looking forward to meeting you at the Skin School, which you can find in the app, where I talk about everything you need to know about acne prone skin."

You can also find me on our Instagram where we share lots of useful information about skin health. I’m happy to answer any questions you have via DMs, so don’t hold back and let me know what’s on your mind.

We’re in this together and we will find what works for YOUR skin!
